Saints slipped to a second defeat in as many games in their post-split fixture against Aberdeen.
St. Johnstone started the match strongly and came close to taking the lead with the best effort of the first half, as Benji Kimpioka saw his shot cleared off the line.
Aberdeen improved drastically after half time, with an Angus McDonald effort cleared off the line for the hosts early in the second half.
The only goal of the game came after 68 minutes, as the Dons were awarded a penalty when Nicky Devlin went down under a challenge from Andy Considine and Connor Smith. After a lengthy VAR check, Bojan Miovski scored the winner from the spot.
Saints slipped to eleventh place in the Premiership with 31 points, 2 points behind Ross Country in tenth after they beat Hibernian 2-1 in Dingwall.
