More Information (Heartland FM is not responsible for external websites)

It all started after the brutal assassination of the three Mirabel sisters who were political activists in the Dominican Republic who were killed in 1961 by order of the Dominican ruler, Rafael Trujillo.

November 25th each year is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girls when we wear orange to bring awareness of this issue.

Since then, the 25th of each month has been dedicated to raising awareness and the Edinburgh Soroptimist Club decided to introduce the Soroptimist Orange Cafe initiative every month.

Crieff Soroptimists have also followed them and hold an Orange Cafe in the Crieff Food Company cafe where anyone is free to join them for a coffee and chat. Everyone will be visible wearing Orange!
