Join Strathearn Community Library for a film presentation from local artist Helen McCrorie. This touching film brings residents of Strathearn together to reflect on personal experiences of the COVID pandemic and the local community initiatives that provided hope and solace during that time and beyond.
Helen worked with several community groups, including Crieff Macular Society, which offers peer support for people experiencing sight loss. The groups involved helped to develop the storyboard, animation, and sound recordings for Helen’s film.
Crieff High School pupils produced a wonderful arrangement of the song ‘Strathearn’ by Carolina Oliphant, Lady Nairne of Strathearn (a contemporary of Robert Burns), which was recorded specially for the soundtrack.
The film was made as an artist co-creation commission for the national Remembering Together project, funded by the Scottish Government and managed by Greenspace Scotland. Local commissioning partners were UHI Perth and Perth & Kinross Council.
Screenings of the film will be shown at 11am*, 12pm, and 2.30pm. The running time for the film is 37 minutes.
*The session at 11am will be audio described.
