St. Johnstone secure Premiership status with final-day survival

Saints secured their Premiership status as they defeated Motherwell during a dramatic final day of the season.

St. Johnstone took the lead after 18 minutes when forward Nicky Clark finsished from a Graham Carey cross.

The Perth side then doubled their lead towards the end of the first half, as Adama Sidibeh took advantage of a Motherwell mix-up to head the ball beyond Liam Kelly at Fir Park.

That stike made it three goals in as many games for Sidibeh.

Motherwell pulled a goal back at the end of the game from substitute Moses Ebiye however, Saints saw the game out to secure the vital 3 points.

The result, coupled with Ross County drawing 2-2 at home to Aberdeen, secures a tenth place finish in the cinch Premiership on goal difference for St. Johnstone, meanwhile Ross County slip into the relegation play-off positon and will now face Raith Rovers.
