St. Johnstone slumped to a disappointing defeat against Kilmarnock.
Saints welcomed Kilmarnock to McDiarmid Park, for their final Premiership match before the split.
Killie started strongly, scoring after 23 minutes as Joe Wright latched onto a Liam Polworth cross from out wide.
Both sides were much more evenly matched throughout the second half, with Saints coming close on a couple of occasions. Ryan McGowan the closest of the lot.
Killie scored a second with less than 10 minutes to go, with forward Marley Watkins scoring a second for the Ayrshire side from close range.
Saints now go into the post-split fixtures sitting in tenth place in the cinch Premiership with 31 points, just one point clear of eleventh placed Ross County after their impressive 3-2 win against Rangers.
