Geoff Brown completes sale of St. Johnstone

Geoff Brown has announced in an open letter to Saints fans that he has completed the sale of the club to Adam Webb.

Geoff Brown, who bought the club in 1986, announced he was selling his majority shareholding in December 2022.

The Brown family have held a majority in the club for around four decades, with the club moving to their current home of McDiarmid Park and winning three major trophies under their stewardship.

When announcing St. Johnstone was for sale, Brown said 'net proceeds' from the deal would be put towards building a community hub for the club's community trust.

An agreement was announced earlier this year for Adam Webb to buy Geoff Brown's shares in the club and that deal has now been finalised.

The takeover has already had approval by the EFL and SFA. This was required due to the American lawyer's 10% stake in English club Cambridge United.
