Tasks: Producing and recording programmes, inserts, interviews etc for others. Also recording and editing adverts, trails and stings all to broadcast standard. Knowledge of sound systems would be an advantage but full training will be given in house. Experience gained here is valid through many fields and gives a head start for those looking for a career in radio or television.
Voluntary Presenters and Anchors
Tasks: To source, produce and present programmes to broadcast standard, be part of a team hosting 3-4 hour long magazine shows. Previous experience helps but full in house training will be given. Experience gained here is valid for those wishing to further a career in either radio or television. The skills learned also increase self-confidence and speaking in public.
Voluntary Music Catalogue Assistants
Tasks: Logging and filing CDs an arrival on station. Collating artists, songs, labels and promoters keeping the library up to date and in order. No previous experience is needed although basic computer skills would help full training is given in house. Experience here is valid in all other administrative situations
Voluntary Advert logging and Scheduling
Tasks: Compiling daily advert schedule and liasing between marketing and programming departments. Maintaining up to date records of advertisements on and off air. Basic computer skills an advantage but full training will be given. Experience here is valid through many areas of administartion and improves logistic and people skills.
