Lauren Murray
New Radio Show for Perth Teen
Lauren Murray is the latest of Heartland FM's young recruits to launch a new show. The 17-year-old from Perth kicks off Lauren's New Release Show on Monday 19th September. Concentrating on new music, the programme will go out between 6pm and 7pm on Mondays and is repeated on Saturdays between 6pm and 7pm.
Two year's ago, when Lauren was only 15, she did a 5 day work placement at Heartland FM. Other young people to turn work experience at the station into a regular radio show, include 14-year-old Alex Lamond and 15-year-old Ruariadh McKay.
As a student at Perth High School, Lauren likes Street Dancing, singing and playing the guitar. Her current favourite bands include The Script, Bruno Mars and Rhianna. "I'm passionate about music. There's so much out there, I want to share it. The best album I've heard recently is the new one by Ed Sheeran."
Lauren's excited about her new show, but she's not new to being on air. After enjoying the work placement, Lauren did a show every Wednesday on Heartland FM, but she stopped in January this year, to put more time into her G.C.S.E.'s. Now with the exams behind her, she's getting back behind the mic. Catch Lauren's New Release Show on Monday 6pm and Saturday 12pm on Heartland FM, 97.5 in Highland Perthshire and 106.6 in the Perth area.
